About Farhana

Farhana is an experienced and approachable family law expert and mediator practising for over 20 years. She specialises in all aspects of family law with considerable expertise in complex matrimonial finance and arrangements concerning children.

Farhana is passionate about helping clients navigate the legal process as constructively as possible.  As a trained collaborative lawyer and mediator, Farhana will always assess whether matters can be resolved amicably and effectively at an early stage. She recognises the importance of problem solving rather than point scoring especially when it comes to sensitive family and children matters.

Regularly ranked in the Legal 500, Farhana works with individual clients, business owners and professionals who value her strategic and pragmatic approach that often leads to an early settlement.

Farhana has a special interest in issues concerning maintenance and achieving fair settlements. She has co-authored an important publication on spousal maintenance, an issue presenting particular difficulty for so many clients. Farhana campaigns actively to raise awareness of the impact of the menopause on financial settlements and carried out some innovative and ground-breaking research on the impact of menopause on marriage with Dr Louise Newson which was reported widely across the UK. She is regularly asked to contribute to mainstream media stories or podcasts alongside the industry facing press.

Farhana has been elected to Resolution’s National Committee for three consecutive terms. She remains wholly committed to the Resolution ethos of practising in a constructive and family-centric way

She provided me with excellent legal advice and support and guided me through the complexities of the divorce proceedings and all of this through the turbulent Covid period. Thank you Farhana, you are a total star!

It has been a pleasure working with you. Although there are no “winners” in divorce, you have helped me to ensure that I don’t lose one of the few assets I am confident that my ex-partner is not entitled to half of – my mind!
