Working at Beck Fitzgerald

Working at Beck Fitzgerald

We are a specialist family law firm committed to access to justice and the rights of the individual. We are based in central offices near Chancery Lane.

We cover the whole spectrum of family law and are regularly called upon to represent clients nationally and internationally in novel and complex of cases.

We work hard within a supportive environment but also have a great deal of fun, with an active programme of social and learning events.

As an organisation we are members of the LAPG (Legal Aid Practitioners Group), ALC (Association of Lawyers for Children), and Resolution. Members of the team also hold appointments in the Nuffield Family Observatory; Family Justice Council; Access to Justice Committee; Legal Aid Practitioner’s Group; Domestic Abuse Response Alliance; and Family Law Advice for the Neurodivergent Community.

Is Beck Fitzgerald right for you?

The qualities we look for are a dedication to upholding the human rights of the individual, a teamworking culture and an empathetic approach. Our core values are integrity, bravery and kindness. Whilst academic success is important, it isn’t our only driver. We consider it important to have a diverse team and we embrace the benefits of neurodivergent staff team which not only reflects the people we serve, but also brings enormous advantage.

We campaign on many social issues, predominantly those concerning domestic abuse, neurodivergence in the family court and access to justice more broadly. Many of the team become actively involved in different aspects of our work but all are committed to helping catalyse positive change in the family justice system for children and families that pass through it. There are chances to work actively with the Ministry of Justice, the Legal Aid Agency, the Judiciary, and other stakeholders.

Our team understand the need for mutual support when working under pressure in a demanding job. If you are committed, a team player, can roll up your sleeves where it counts, and want to make a positive difference to society then this may be the place for you.

How we look after you?

Our team’s wellbeing is prioritised, and colleagues can take part in the following initiatives: GymPass, Pilates and HIIT classes hosted at the office, half days for weekday birthdays, a wellbeing afternoon, and socials throughout the year.

We run regular courses on resilience, stress management, handling difficult situations, and a variety of other topics to enhance your soft skills and help you enjoy your job.
